Skin Care Isn't Just for Women

Skin Care Isn't Just for Women
For a long time, men have not  been prominent in the skin care conversation. Cosmetic companies have been marketing almost exclusively to women ever since there has been a thing called a skin care product. But men care about how they look too. And now that society is changing its views on what it means to be a man, men are allowed to openly care about how they look and skincare companies are vying for a huge new market. It's a shame that men are just now being focused on when it comes to skincare because for the most part, men and women have the same issues when it comes to skin. Below are some of the skin issues that men have.
Aging Skin
Our skin ages so slow, people often say that it feels like they just woke up one day and were old. There are a lot of things that happen to our skin as it ages and there are a lot of products to help combat the effects of aging. The first thing that happens is the skin loses its luster. Skin becomes dull the older we get because dead skin is not replaced as often. Men who want to brighten up their complexion should buy an exfoliating scrub to help shed the dead skin and let their new skin underneath shine through.
The skin also becomes less elastic as time marches on. And when skin loses elasticity it becomes wrinkly and saggy. Collagen is very helpful in restoring some elasticity. However, you shouldn't expect extremely dramatic results especially once skin has already lost a lot of its elasticity. No man should expect the same results from a skincare product that they would get from a plastic surgeon.
Shave Bumps
Razor bumps are unattractive. They can be a real issue for men with darker skin. So, eradicating razor bumps is on the top of the list for a lot of men. There are two different reasons that men develop bumps after shaving. The first reason is that the skin becomes irritated from the friction of shaving and/or the shave cream being used. The other reason is because shaving causes ingrown hairs.
Protection from the Sun
Sun can really be brutal on the skin. Even though most people wouldn't classify sunscreen as a skincare product, it definitely is. Not only will sunscreen make skin age better, it will keep it healthy as well. Exposure to the sun can leave skin looking and feeling like leather. And if skin cancer develops and has to be cut out, that will definitely not improve the look of the skin.Skin Care Isn't Just for Women
